Malta-licensed online gambling operator Mr Green & Co AB is expanding its presence in the online gambling market by launching a sportsbook product this year.
After reporting Mr Green’s financial result for the fourth quarter and the calendar year ended December 31, 2015, AB chief executive Per Norman announced that the company will broaden its offering and launch a sports book in 2016.
According to its website, Mr Green intends to introduce an innovative new betting product on its platform, which will distinguish the brand from competitors. The new product will be launched during the 2016 UEFA European Championship.
“This is a natural expansion of our offering since a large number of our current casino customers also play some form of sports betting,” Norman said. “We recognize substantial potential for Mr Green to grow on this market also.”
The company has reported a 20% increase in revenue to SEK792.6m ($93.7m) for the full year 2015 while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization(EBITDA), excluding comparability-affecting items, increased 1.4% year-on-year to SEK136.8 million ($16.1m).
Revenue for the fourth quarter was up 15% year-on-year to SEK201.1 million ($23.7m). EBITDA rose 71.2% to SEK29 million ($3.4m).
The company also announced the appointment of Jesper Kärrbrink as the CEO of Mr Green Ltd. to replace Bo Wänghammar, as well as the election of Kent Sander as the new chairman of the board.
“Jesper is a driven leader with extensive experience of online and traditional gaming companies. He will assume the role after the summer, at which point the current CEO Bo Wänghammar will continue with other assignments within the Mr Green Group,” said Norman, quoted by EGR.
Kärrbrink will assume his position after the summer while Sander will take his post at the company’s 2016 Annual General Meeting on April 21 in Stockholm.
