French live poker still has a pulse.

Bart Lybaert has won the €122,000 first prize in the €1,100 buy-in France Poker Series (FPS) Main Event in the Hotel Casino Barriere de Lille, after defeating Jamel Hassani in heads-up action.

745 entrants created a total prize pool of €715,200, and 103 players were paid. Some of the more notable players who earned a few coins included: Erwann Pecheux (16th), Christophe De Meulder (17th) and Morten Mortensen (21st).

Victory for Lybaert now means he has won close to €500,000 in live tournament earnings. This was his second ever live tournament victory with his first coming at EUREKA! 3 when he topped a field of 500 entrants in the €1,100 Main Event at the King’s Casino in Rozvadov. He picked up €115,000 for that win and his other decent scores include a runner-up spot in a €910 No-Limit Hold’em (NLHE) event at the 2014 Marrakech Open for €45,575 and a 20th place finish in the 2014 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Millionaire Maker for $50,614.

French poker has gone through the mill of late. The Partouche Poker Tour fell apart at the seams, the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) hop, skipped and jumped into Berlin territory, the European Poker Tour (EPT) left Deauville and the iconic Aviation Club de France (ACF) shut down.

All that axing means the FPS is only four stops strong. FPS Monaco, FPS Online and FPS Lille are now in the bag. That leaves FPS Enghien Paris Dec 16-20 as the last remaining stop of the season.

Here are the Player of the Year (POY) leaderboards going into that final event:
