PokerStars Paint the Californian Tour Bus Red; Rozvadov Event Goes Turbo; and Full Tilt Celebrate Jackpot S&G Anniversary

PokerStars Paint the Californian Tour Bus Red; Rozvadov Event Goes Turbo; and Full Tilt Celebrate Jackpot S&G AnniversaryLee Davy Provides you with three morsels of news from Amaya Gaming Group Inc. including plans to send Team PokerStars Pros into battle in California; a turbo filled Kings Cup in Rozvadov, and a birthday celebration for Full Tilt.

Have you ever wondered which members of Team PokerStars Pros would be thrust into the trenches should the fight for American online poker get a little bloody?

Now you know.

Once the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event moves into its transitory final table phase: Daniel Negreanu, Chris Moneymaker, Jason Somerville, Vanessa Selbst and Liv Boeree will hop on board the tour bus and spin the destination plate to the word California.

Let California Play! PokerStars Pro Tour is the second high profile initiative deployed by the PokerStars Situation Room, after Daniel Negreanu and Jason Somerville were sent to talk some sense into anyone with an ear, seated in the same room as them in Sacramento.

The quintet will travel around the state, on a whistle stop tour of card rooms, in a bid to cast their enchanting voices into the ears of people who might not be aware of the need to support awareness for iPoker legislation in the state.

“It’s really important for poker players to make their voices heard among the decision makers in California and tell them ‘Let California Play’,” said PokerStars Team Pro member Daniel Negreanu,

Fans will get the opportunity to play with the famous five, in a series of tournaments and games, as well as a raise a few bucks for charity at the same time.

Eric Hollreiser, Head of Corporate Communications for Amaya Gaming Inc. thinks it’s an important move towards raising necessary awareness in this vital state.

“Poker players can play an important role in shaping the debate around iPoker in California so we’re looking to spark conversations in poker rooms up and down the state. We have a simple message: Let California Play!”

The announcement of the tour comes days after Californian Assemblyman Mike Gatto (who looks like an extra in House of Cards) decided to feed Californian iPoker Bill AB 9 to the piranhas citing a lack of consensus in the state.

Let’s hope the traveling Red Spade Gang can change that.

Here are the tour dates.

PokerStars.Net Kings Cup Gets a Turbo-Sized Makeover

Poker players who like it thick and fast will be delighted to hear that the forthcoming PokerStars.net King’s Cup festival will consist entirely of turbo events.

The four-day festival will run Sep 3 – 6, with the King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Rep once again providing the room and board. The €330 Main Event will carry a €200,000 Guaranteed prize pool, and will feature a total of four starting flights. Players will be allowed to re-enter once on each day, that’s eight bullets, or €2,640 in the back pocket. The Turbo tour will also feature a €1,100 High Roller (Sep 5-6)

Full Tilt Celebrate a Year of Jackpot S&G Action

Full Tilt is celebrating a full year of Jackpot Sit & Go action on the site. One assumed it’s been a success otherwise ElkY would have turned the press release into a paper plane and attempted to break some sort of world record with it.

I will end this trio of Amaya Gaming stories with some numbers porn. Kleenex at the ready: –

  • The most popular form of S&G has been the $1 (32%).
  • The least popular form of S&G has been the $50 (6%).
  • Players have competed in 12.5 million Jackpot S&G’s in the past year.
  • Over 300,000 unique real money players have played.
  • 18 lucky players were seated at a 2000 multiplier table on two occasions.
  • The highest number of tournaments played by a single person is 53,862.
  • The largest cumulative winnings paid out to a single player are $2,097,076.

I think I might have a game.

Oh shit…I’m stuck in America. The home of the free, the land of the brave, and a place where I can’t play online poker, but can smoke a joint and shoot my neighbor in the ass with a big fucking gun.
