Summary: Google’s mobilegeddon is a massive update affecting mobile search results on smartphones. They have begun to cull out non-mobile friendly search results.

To do this, Google have built a mobile diagnostic tool which determines whether a site is friendly for mobile are not.

Tip: within Webmaster tools Google give you some detailed analysis of your website. They show you pages with errors and describe the problem. This way it’s easy to make sure your mobile housekeeping is up-to-date.

Reality check: Mobilegeddon is quite bad… Sites are being hammered, but not as many as you might think. Bright edge have done a big piece of research and found that overall around 5% of mobile search results have been removed.
