Real Madrid have parted ways with their Italian coach, Carlo Ancelotti, and their infamous club president, Florentino Perez doesn’t know why?
Real Madrid has sacked Carlo Ancelotti.
The Italian, 55, has been shown the door after only two seasons in charge. He won the Champions League and the Copa del Rey, in his first season in charge, but failed to pick up any silverware at the second time of asking.
Out you go son.
Two trophies in two seasons, is that really worth a sacking? According, to Club President Florentino Perez it was, only he doesn’t know why?
“What did Ancelotti do wrong? I don’t know.” Said Perez before continuing. “The demands here at Real Madrid are very high. The affection that the players and the fans have for Carlo is the same as the affection I myself have for him.”
If that’s affection, his wife had better start worrying.
Ancelotti’s side suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Juventus in the semi-finals of the Champions league, and they lost the league title to their arch-rivals Barcelona by two points. It has been a disappointing year for Madrid, but it seems Ancelotti still had the backing of his playing staff.
Great coach and amazing person. Hope we work together next season. pic.twitter.com/HqHHGjGGUH

His failure to win La Liga is probably the reason Ancelotti was shown the door, but is there anyone out there better equipped to get the job done? The favorite for the position is Napoli coach Rafael Benitez. Does the former Liverpool man have a better pedigree than the Italian? We all know the answer to that one.
According to the Spanish press the writing had been on the wall for several months, after Perez repeatedly refused to back his manager. It’s reported that Ancelotti will take a year out of the game to have back surgery. He suffers from spinal stenosis. When he returns there will be no shortage of job offers for the three-time Champions League winner.
