Brett Angell Wins UKIPT London for £115,083Teesside based Brett Angell defeats Fabrizio Fuchs, in heads-up action, to take the title and £115,083 in prize money at the United Kingdom & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) in London.

An Angell has won the United Kingdom & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) London leg, as Middlesborough based Brett Angell finished off the PokerStars qualifier, Fabrizio Fuchs, in heads-up action to take the £115,083 first prize.

It’s the largest single prize of Angell’s career, and makes up for the agony of defeat he has felt both in 2011, and just a few months ago, when he narrowly lost out to Gareth Walker in the Nottingham leg of UKIPT2, and Timothy Chung in the Genting Poker Series (GPS) Main Event in Newcastle. Angell’s live tournament earnings move up to $383,330.

1,089 players entered the £770 No-Limit Hold’em (NLHE) Main Event, creating a £739,431 prize pool, and both Fuchs and Angell agreed upon a heads-up deal before the AK of Angell clashed with the A9 of Fuchs to end the contest.

“I still work in IT and I’m going to carry on working in IT, “ Angell told PokerStars after his victory. “ I really enjoy playing, but poker’s too unpredictable.”

The former PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) High Roller runner-up finishing sixth in this one.

There were also seats for the former Grosvenor United Kingdom Poker Tour (GUKPT) Main Event runner-up Caicai Huang, and the WPT National Series Marbella runner-up, Rasmus Agerskov. Huang finishing in seventh, and Agerskov finishing in eighth.
