Caesars Palace to host the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Warm-Up series Apr 25 – May 4, as the clock counts down towards the biggest poker show on earth.
Can’t wait until the WSOP starts?
Then fear not because Las Vegans can get into the action nice and early by participating in the WSOP Warm-Up in Caesars Palace.
The event runs Apr 25 – May 4 and promises to honor $110,000 in guarantees; a $10,000 WSOP Main Event seat, and $11,000 in WSOP side event seats.
With a card room measuring at 14,000 square feet, including a designated 6,000 square feet tournament area housing 33 tournament tables, the Caesars Palace poker room is the largest on the Strip.
The series will consist of 25-tournaments with buy-ins ranging between $130 – $560 and 11 of them have guaranteed prize pools, or a WSOP Main Event package up for grabs.
The series kicks off at noon on Fri 25th Apr with a $130 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em (NLHE) event carrying a $7,500 guaranteed prize pool and a $1,000 WSOP seat for the winner.
The rose amongst the tulips is a $560 two-day Championship NLHE event that carries a $25,000 guarantee and will provide the winner with a free $1,500 WSOP buy-in. That main event will take place 5-6th Mar.
“This is an excellent time to hone and practice your skills for the busy summer tournament series at the WSOP, which is one of the reasons that we are adding WSOP seats to this year’s Warm-Up Series,” said Bill O’Connell, Poker Operations Manager at Caesars Palace. The Poker Room is adding eight $1,000 event seats and two $1,500 event seats, totaling to $11,000 in WSOP Seats. In addition, a WSOP Main Event Mega Satellite will be included on May 4 at 2 pm. This satellite features an $11,000 package, including a $10,000 WSOP Main Event seat and $1,000 in travel expenses, which include step tournaments into this Mega satellite for as low as $50. “Like any great athlete, you need warm-up matches (games) before you’re ready for the main stage. Poker is a game where anyone with a chip and a chair is a threat to take home the title. What better place to do that then here at Caesars Palace Poker Room for the WSOP Warm-Up event?”
The series will consist entirely of NLHE events, but there will be some slight variations to the theme with a NLHE Survivor event (10% of the field get paid), and Double-Stack Turbo events.
The regular tournament structure, and cash game action, will also be available alongside the warm up.
