Full Tilt Poker Round Up: High Stakes Swings, Howard Lederer MTV Style Vids and Much More

Full Tilt Poker (FTP) continues to provide good value for the mass media as the High Stakes action continues to bemuse and befuddle, Howard Lederer gets his own MTV style video, and more former US players get their money back.

Full Tilt Poker Round Up: High Stakes Swings, Howard Lederer MTV Style Vids and Much MoreIt may have fallen spectacularly from online poker traffic report grace, but you won’t get a better site for churning up a good old-fashioned poker story than FTP.

Who cares if 888poker, PartyPoker and iPoker are all seemingly moving away from PokerStars dirty little sister; she still attracts the biggest online cash games in the biz.

Niklas Heinecker continues to honor the ‘Germans are great at everything’ motto by taking around $1.4m from the FTP cash games in a three-day period last week.

Heinecker continues to wreak havoc after a typhoon inducing 2013 saw him take around $6.2m in online winnings, and $4.5m in live tournament winnings, causing many industry insiders to hoist him onto a pedestal as the best player in the world.

Interestingly, a significant portion of that green came from the deep pockets of the man who will always be the greatest poker player on earth: Phil ‘Polarizing’ Ivey, after the latter lost close to a million, including a large chunk in deuce-to-seven heads-up action against the German.

So that’s the upside…what about the downside?

Well it seems the face of FTP, Gus Hansen, is going to have to take a brief high stakes poker sabbatical after another series of losses has taken his lifetime earnings to $17.6m (according to HighstakesDB.com).

Speaking to PokerNews, the Great Dane admitted that he is ‘mad at myself for playing poorly,’ having bad game selection and playing too many hours whilst on tilt against some of the best players in the world.

“I might take a break from the highest games and play a little smaller just to get a win under the belt, then maybe jump back up to the high games again.” Hansen told PokerNews.

The Garden City Group Continue to Delight Former US FTP Customers

A second batch of payments has been sent to former US FTP players who saw their money vanish into the FTOP coffers, Bermuda Triangle style, after a saga that included a lot of Fridays and the color Black.

Around 2,200 payments, totaling around $5m in cash, have been distributed to the victims of the scandal in the second series of payments since money started returning to accounts back in February of this year.

The second batch of payments has been made to former players who had incorrect banking details on file with the GCG. No word has yet been received on when players who are considered affiliates will have their money reimbursed.

Howard Lederer Set For MTV Music Video Award?

SrslySirius once again proves that he is in the wrong business by producing a video that MTV would be proud of, featuring none other than that former FTP legend Howard Lederer.

Russ Hamilton, Jen Larson, Matt Marafioti, Tom Dwan and Todd Terry are just a few poker princes and princesses to make an appearance in the video that was created after rumors circulated about a possible return to the felt for Lederer at this years WSOP.

The Lederer video comes hot on the heels of the Daniel ‘Jungleman’ Cates video prompting the obvious question…who’s next?
The 2+2 society is unanimous in their support of a Sheldon Adelson video, but SrslySirius is devoid of ideas. If you fancy helping him out, then head over to the thread and get Adelson bashing.
