While its true the online gambling industry is becoming more corporate as the years go by, us aging iGaming folk still know how to enjoy a good party. Throughout 2013 conference attendees and industry professionals attended dozens of parties and below you will find five soirees that rightfully stood out from the rest.
5) SBC Asia & AGB Typhoon Charity Event
Hats off to our friends at SBC Asia and Asia Gambling Brief for putting together an industry gathering in Manila to support Typhoon Yolanda relief. The organizers were proud to announce that $700 was raised on the evening and that the amount will be matched by the Calvin Ayre Foundation for a total of $1400. In addition to giving back to the community, guests managed to mingle over drinks and make some new connections in the online gambling industry’s latest hotspot.
4) Lyceum & SBC Christmas iGaming Social
At one point in time it seemed as if iGaming Socials were taking over the world, but the situation has since calmed down and therefore this year’s Christmas iGaming Social in London was a welcomed treat. With Oddslife, Plus-Five Gaming, Intertops Affiliates and Peer1 on board as sponsors, guests were treated to a night of free drinks and fun at Central London’s DISTRKT nightclub.
While this event is not exactly classified as a “party” per se, the reality is that it might as well be one. iGB Affiliate Awards 2013 was held at The Brewery in London and it was a celebration of the best and the brightest of the online gambling affiliate industry. Guests arrived dressed in black tie, enjoyed drinks at the bar before awards, enjoyed endless wine at the table during awards, enjoyed drinks at the bar after awards and god knows what else after they left.
2) Fire & ICE: Lost In Time Cabaret
This party organized by Lyceum Media is a staple in the online gambling industry calendar, a night of sultry entertainment that literally just keeps outdoing itself year after year. The Fire & ICE Lost In Time Cabaret featured a series of acts on stage throughout the night, girls dancing in martini glasses, wandering bottles of spirits in the hands of Michael Caselli, all sorts of additional eye candy and those who were exceptionally lucky got whipped by S&M-clad models.
Hey it might seem biased coming from CalvinAyre.com, but what party this year featured a Black Eyed Pea as a DJ? A cigar bar? An endless open bar? 150 BodogGirls? Bodog Live Dealer Girls? Midgets carrying Thompson submachine guns? The answer is none. The Bodog Conference Party in Manila took place at Republiq Club, temporarily dubbed as “Bodog Gin Joint” for the night, and while Apl De Ap spun the tunes, guests enjoyed a night of debauchery and indulgence that they will likely never forget.
