Greg Raymer Prostitution Charges Are Dismissed

greg-raymer-prostitution-charges-dismissedGreg Raymer will not be facing a jail term after the charges laid against him for his role in a prostitution sting, that took place in Wake Forest in March of last year, have been dropped.

Has The Fossilman used his one time?

According to poker news reports emanating from the quill of TMZ it appears that he has, as court documents obtained by the celebrity news website, confirm that his 75 hours of community service seems to be punishment enough.

Greg Raymer was placed in handcuffs and shoved into the back of a police car in March of last year, after the Wake Forest Police Department brought down the hammer on a prostitution sting in a local hotel. The former WSOP champ was one of six men arrested, forced to pay a $1,000 secured bond and ordered to appear in court.

The court documents that TMZ hold state that Raymer intended to commit a sexual act that is described as an ‘abominable and detestable crime against nature.’ Quite what this crime has to do with a Yeti is yet to unfold, but it does allow the mind to wander into territory normally reserved for the pen of Irvine Welsh.

Many people thought that the Fossilman would go running to the hills after the initial news broke back in March, but unabashed, Raymer continued to ‘work.’ I was fortunate enough to catch up with him during the WSOP and although he preferred not to talk about the incident in question, did talk openly about his liberal views on life.

He may be playing, but the results haven’t been coming, prompting speculation that the incident has had an effect on his game. Raymer only cashed once in a dismal WSOP – finishing 11th in the $2.5k 10-Game Mix for $11,323 – and has since added a 11th place finish in the Heartland Poker Tour’s (HPT) event in Fresno for another $7,276.
