Event #36: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em (NLHE) Shootout has reached the money and amongst those guaranteed at least $5,555 is the IveyPoker Pro David Peters.
Peters is from Toledo Ohio but is currently residing in Canada where he can ply his trade online. He is also a regular face on the live tournament circuit in Europe where a series of impressive results captured the attention of the hirers and firers at IveyPoker.
Peters has cashed five times at this years WSOP including a final table appearance in Event #2: $5,000 NLHE – 8-Handed where he picked up $48,130 for an eight place finish, continuing a streak of impressive results that has seen him amass over $600,000 year-to-date – his second largest haul in his impressive career.
The closest that Peters has come to a WSOP bracelet was back in 2010 when he finished runner-up to Marcel Vonk in a $1,000 event that attracted 3,844 players. We caught up with Peters as he was wondering aimlessly around the Rio during a break in play.
This is what he had to say.
