We’re currently seeing the popularity of English Premier League football hit unprecedented levels in Asia and it has meant deals being signed all over the place this summer. Who would’ve thought 20 years ago that a match between Wigan and West Bromwich Albion would see advertising boards plastered in the best Cantonese phrases the betting companies can offer?
Last week we asked our readers which of these deals they were most impressed with by putting the following question to the vote: Which Asian-facing brand has the best partnership(s) with an EPL club?
Users of the site didn’t think much of KashBet.com’s partnership with Q.P.R., so much so that no one voted for it and it got 0 percent.
Mansion’s tie up with Man City didn’t do a lot better with 8 percent.
Dafabet signed its first deals this summer, with West Brom and Everton, and received just 10 percent.
12Bet.com has been Wigan’s partner for a few seasons now but it was only enough for 15 percent.
It was also the case for Fun88’s hook-up with Spurs, which also polled 15 percent.
188Bet’s partnership with Liverpool came up just short with 21 percent.
That means SBOBET’s sponsorship of West Ham with 31 percent is, in your eyes, the best deal in whole league.
SBOBET is one of the most respected brands in the Asian-facing gambling industry and has been doing a stellar job since becoming the on shirt sponsor of the side back in December 2008. They’ve also sponsored Cardiff City in the past and are one firm that those in the industry obviously think are going about things in the right way.
This week we look at sports betting and try to find out whether the pub is the new betting shop or if it’s all about sitting in the stadium.
