The excitement is reaching a fever pitch as the National Football League season officially kicks off Thursday night at the home of the Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers, with Packers taking on previous defending Super Bowl champs, the New Orleans Saints.
While many sportsbooks will be focussing on tailoring their offerings to all of the hype and pomp that surrounding the Packers game against the New Orleans Saints, Sportsbooks would also do well to direct some of their focus and attention to Sunday’s game in Houston where the Texans will be playing host to the Indianapolis Colts.
Right now, Peyton Manning is riding an iron man streak of 208 consecutive starts, it’s a streak that dates all the way back to the 1998 season. Doubts are in the air as to whether Manning will be able to start for the Colts as the future Hall of Fame pivot is still on the mend from offseason neck surgery.
If Manning can’t go, veteran Kerry Collins will be at the helm. Without Manning, the honest truth is that the Colts go from being a playoff contender to just another team missing a few a pieces.
Will Manning’s streak of 208 consecutive starts be broken? If he can’t, tough one for the guys who have him on their fantasy teams.
