U.S casino operator Station Casinos has signed an agreement to manage the sportsbook operations for the El Cortez Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Under the new agreement, Station Casinos will provide El Cortez with the company’s Wagering Integrated Network (WIN), a proprietary system that allows for the processing, management and reporting of race and sports wagers across the Station Casinos’ network of race and sportsbooks.
Station Casinos will also provide odds on all wagering sporting events, while El Cortez customers will also have access to Sports Connection, the company’s intranet and phone wagering programme for Nevada residents.
“Partnering with Station Casinos will allow us to grow our sports book business and tap into their vast network, state-of-the-art technology and popular promotions,” said Mike Nolan, general manager & chief operating officer for El Cortez in the press release. “We have a large clientele who are employed by downtown businesses that wager with us, now they can also enjoy the ease and convenience of playing Station’s Great Giveaway at the El Cortez.”
It wasn’t long ago that the company was mired in two years of bankruptcy before bankruptcy Judge Gregg Zive in Reno approved plans that will see the Fertitta family own 45 percent of the restructured casino company after investing almost $200 million. This new management contract with El Cortez marks Station Casinos’ first foray into managing sportsbook operations outside its family of casinos.
Pending state and local gaming regulatory approvals, will commence in early August.
