After having their CEO Gunnar Lind resign a few weeks ago, Sweden’s Cherryföretagen has appointed Betsafe chairman Emil Sunvisson as the company’s new president and CEO.
Sunvisson, 39, has served as a board member of Cherry since October 2006 and will begin his new role as president and CEO on August 1st in replacement of former Cherry CEO Gunnar Lind. Lind is expected to stay with Cherry to ensure a smooth transition process.
Emil Sunvisson is excited to take on the new role, he said in the release, “I look forward to contribute to Cherry’s continued development as a leading provider of games for onshore, offshore and online.”
Cherry’s chairman of the board Rolf Åkerlind is confident theat Sunvisson is the right man for the job, he said in the release, “Emil has, during his years as a Board member of Cherry, shown a great commitment to the company, in particular and has proven to have great knowledge of the industry in which we operate, in general…It is therefore gratifying that we now can tie Emil closer to the business, when he takes over the operational responsibilities.”
“The gaming sector offers a highly inconstant environment with great challenges, combined with a high growth potential,” said Emil Sunvisson in the release. “I have had the privilege to closely follow Cherry’s impressive development from, in the past, a company within traditional gaming, to a modern corporation that competes over customers in the rapidly growing online gaming industry.”
