eCOGRA logoA British online slots review site that is barely a year old has received the eCOGRA seal of approval. BestSlots.co.uk, a site that delivers independent consumer news and reviews for the UK’s plethora of online slots players, is now a reputable portal under eCOGRA’s scheme.

After receiving the certification, founder David Newstead said, “We always set out to provide honest, entertaining reviews of online slots games that would really benefit the community of players on the Internet, so we are delighted to have won eCOGRA’s approval. It means a lot to us, and is a tremendous endorsement of our standards of integrity and commitment to fair play.”

eCOGRA was bought out by members of the management just last month and this represents one of the first approvals since the deal took place.

The pokie reform proposed by independent Australian MP Andrew Wilkie has received a blow after a fellow independent withdrew his support. Rural independent MP Tony Windsor stated that he’s unlikely to support the legislation.

The comments, published in the Sydney Morning Herald, said, ”If you lock a gambler out of a club, is that going to stop him going to the races or just going and watching TV and betting? Or getting online and doing it in the privacy of his own bathroom?

”What [Mr Wilkie has] been talking about is a very, very expensive operation. Everybody would like something done about problem gambling, but I haven’t seen any proof that this would achieve that.”

Earlier this week Wilkie already called on Julie Gillard to make a decision on the legislation as soon as she can and it looks like it will be a very close run thing.
