It’s almost the greatest day of the year. Christmas is nice but if you’re in the online sportsbook industry, this is like ten Christmases and a New Year’s Eve and your birthday all in one, minus the presents of course. Super Bowl Sunday is the culmination of an online gaming company’s efforts aimed at the biggest sports betting event of the year.
As gaming industry professionals, everyone has an opinion on the Super Bowl, especially our staff. So we got some predictions from some of the CalvinAyre.com staff as to which team they predict will to win Super Bowl XLV between the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Rebecca Liggero – My pick is The Steelers. Why? Well, let’s be honest…at this point I probably know more about football here in the UK than American football, so I’m basing this prediction on the fact that I am a fan of Big Ben and I have always liked people from Pittsburgh!
Anthony Dohm – Pouncey is out. So the Steelers are going to start a guy who has never started a game at center…IN THE SUPER BOWL. Roethlisberger is going to be chased around the backfield by that monster Clay Matthews like a frightened college girl being chased around the bar by that monster Roethlisberger. Karma’s a bitch Ben. Packers 24 Steelers 17.
John Blaise – There’s three things I don’t believe in. Sushi, karma and the Green Bay Packers. There’s clutch and then there’s Mr. Clutch, AKA Big Ben Roethlisberger. He takes what he wants and doesn’t take “No” for an answer on and off the field. I’m taking Steel town all the way baby. Steelers win 24-17.
Mark Mckenna – It’s Aaron Rodgers’ time to shine. There’s no way the Steelers are stopping the Packers from hoisting THEIR trophy. It belongs to the Packers, it’s named after their legendary coach and on Sunday they’re taking it back. Packers win it in a close one, 24-21.
Bill Beatty –People are going to throw out stats and historical data, trends and expert opinions but really none of it matters. The only number I care about this weekend is 12/1; the odds I bet the Packers to win the Super Bowl at the start of the season. A Green Bay win equals a big payday for daddy. Packers 24-Steelers 10.
Steven Stradbrooke – Feb. 6 (game day) is Ronald Reagan’s 100th birthday. Pennsylvania voted 44.17% for the Republican presidential candidate in 2008, while Wisconsin gave the GOP only 42.31% of its votes. Ergo, the vengeful Gipper’s ghost will ensure a Steelers victory. Steelers 27-Packers 21
If you’re keeping track, that’s three picks for the Packers and three for the Steelers, so it’s fitting that we let the man himself break the tie.
Calvin Ayre – “All the smart money is on Pittsburgh, so who am I to go against the smart money?”
There you go, those are our picks to win Super Bowl XLV, who do you guys have winning it all?
