The gambling industry is one of the many to have reaped the huge benefits the mobile industry is bringing, and a company who’ve released a report into the market could be releasing a straight to DVD film, such is their title for the last year.

Distimo’s report on the “Great Mobile App Store Boom of 2010” reiterates what has been said by a large number of voices in the industry, not least this very site. According to the report, which isn’t completely focused on the gaming industry, Apps on the major App stores, which includes Android Market, Apple App Store, Blackberry App World, and Nokia Ovi Store, are up. Figures for the Android market are the most pertinent to this industry though.

Casino and card games were up 644% on the Android Market, second only to comics (up 802%), Apps in total in store up a huge 544%. It goes without saying that it’s not all plain sailing Google’s system though.

The failure to launch Honeycomb in time for a raft of tablet PCs meaning the smart phone system is currently implemented on the devices being one of the boobs they’ll want to forget in a hurry. Many companies in the industry are very fond of the operating system though and until Apple opens its doors to gambling this is best option the industry has right now.
