Falcons fly, Raiders romp, but how bout dem Cowboys?

If you didn’t know, or you weren’t quite sure, or if you had your doubts, the Atlanta Falcons should have put most of those to rest last night about their legitimacy as Super Bowl contenders this year. Matty Ice and the Falcons stormed back against the Bucs to improve their record to 9-2. At 9-2, there is no doubt about how good the team is, the only question is just how far in the playoffs will they go? Sportsbooks ask the questions, bettors put up money for the answers.

But how about them Cowboys? The Cowboys have won 3 of their last 4 games since Garrett took over and they’re starting to look like America’s team again. Yesterday the Cowboys beat up on the struggling Colts as Peyton Manning did his best Jay Cutler 09′ impression by throwing pick sixes all over the field. The Cowboys did suffer a huge loss as Dez Bryant will be done for the season with a fractured leg.

Now I know it’s damn near blasphemy to bet against the Colts, but this team is banged up, they don’t have a running game and Peyton Manning, no matter how you look at it, is just flat out off his game. Could this team fail to make the playoffs? Around this point in most seasons they would have already clinched! And what about those Cowboys? The Cowboys have to be the team nobody wants to play right now, as they’re looking to play spoiler and regain some respect. How many wins will the Cowboys finish with season under John Garrett? Is it now officially a done deal that Garrett will be the head coach of America’s team for the long haul?

And what about those Raiders? The Raiders sweep the season series with the Chargers, could they make the playoffs for the first time in forever? They would likely have to win their next four games to have a chance, could it happen?
