Full Tilt sponsored Virgin Racing signs new deal

virgin-full-tiltFull Tilt Poker haven’t had the best of times in their first season as one of the on-car sponsors in Formula 1. Virgin Racing has been rooted to the back of the grid for almost the entire season with the cars beset by mechanical problems and all sorts. You might even say they haven’t been dealt the best hand this season. Virgin is hoping next season will be an improvement though.

They’ve begun their quest to rise up the rankings next season by securing their place on the grid until 2014 and at the same time signing a deal with the Russian supercar manufacturer Marussia Motors. The Russian company now has a “significant stake” in the team.

Virgin team boss John Booth said: “It’s massive. The future was solid but this makes us secure for four years.”

It’s thought the company is looking ahead towards the Russian Grand Prix, which should join calendar in 2014, and the growth this will provide for the supercar maker. Vitaly Petrov already this season became the first Russian F1 driver and with his future in doubt at Renault, he could be in line to join the team.

If they all play their cards right this could be a very beneficial deal for all involved and see the Virgin Racing team rising up the grid.
