Full Tilt Pros going for a Brazilian

bsopIf you live in Brazil then there’s a treat coming your way. It’s not the return of Pele announcing that he’s impotent or that Carnival will now be taking place every single weekend all round the year. Neither I’m afraid. Pele’s still going to be doing those adverts for Viagra and no Carnival until March. The Brazilian poker scene is set to receive quite the boost though.

Full Tilt Poker has announced that the Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP) will count FTP pros Gus Hansen and Mike Matusow amongst the attendees at this year’s main event. Hansen and Matusow are both well known on the tour and will be looking to add a BSOP bracelet to the numerous WSOP, WSOPE and WPT ones that they have between them.

The tournament will also feature Brazilian Full Tilt Pros in addition to players who have qualified via online satellite events. The Main Event, contested by a record 1,000 players, is held in Sao Paulo from November 12th – 15th and has a prize pool of approximately $700,000. It’s also the largest poker event to be held in Latin America further backing up the growth that the area is currently experiencing.

ESPN International will be providing televised coverage of the event to see who captures the elusive BSOP bracelet.
