If you regularly read websites concerned with the iGaming industry, you may well have become rather bored at the amount we write about the potential for the future of mobile technology. The case may also be that you’ve been trying to think up witty nicknames for the partnership between bwin/PartyGaming. You shouldn’t get bored with any of this though, maybe the merger, but definitely not the former part. Mobile has already altered the way we live and is now set to transform the iGaming industry.
After announcing that their merger is still on track only last week, bwin today showed of their new iPhone mobile gambling app. “bwin live” will allow users to bet live on the Apple iPhone on sports such as soccer, formula one, tennis, football, ice hockey, and more.
Berthold Karo, the man in charge of Product Management RNG and Mobile at bwin, explained: “Thanks to bwin live, customers now get to place bets on their iPhone using an intuitive user interface, check on the status of the bets they have placed, and retrieve a detailed list of their bets.”
Android users need not worry though – a version for the popular operating system will also be on its way later this year.
bwin also used today to announce a new web application to allow users to play blackjack. Specially designed for Android and iPhone users, Kao commented: “With the new web applications for the popular Smartphone platforms Android and iOS we want to give the growing number of bwin customers with Smartphones the option of making optimal mobile use of the bwin product range, as well.”
