Giants take on Red hot Phillies in NLCS

I’d like to be able to sit here and dissect these two teams and look for the different ways this series will play out, but I can’t do that, not with how the Phillies are playing. As far as I see it, the Giants don’t have a chance in hell of winning this series. In fact, if they win it, I’m willing to say it’s one of the greatest upsets of the last decade.

The Phillies are playing unbelievable baseball right now and their pitching staff is ridiculous. In fact, both teams have great pitching staffs and this series will feature some amazing arms in Halladay, Hamels and Lincecum. But the Giants bats just can’t compete with the Phillies bats. Offense has be the Giants achilles heel all year long and facing the stellar pitching staff of the Phillies won’t help.

The Giants have to be hoping they can at least get to the Phillies bullpen, but Halladay leads the majors in complete games and innings pitched and Cole Hamels is much stronger this year and he too is pitching deeper into games.

All is see is Phillies in 4 games, maybe 5 if Lincecum can steal one, and a rematch of the Yankees and Phillies in the World Series.

For sportsbooks this series represents a great opportunity to expand betting options for clients with Player props, and Team Props. How many hits will Halladay give up in his NLCS debut?
