The Morongo Band of Mission Indians has joined with 21 other California tribal organizations in a bid to become one of the three providers of intrastate online poker envisioned by Sen. Rod Wright’s proposed legislation. Given that the state’s legislative session ends Aug. 31, the issue may not even come to a vote until 2011, so this may be a case of all dressed up and nowhere to gamble, but stranger things have happened in politics.
