NFL teams following Dolphins lead in starting rookies at cornerback

In the NFL, teams attack your weakest link. If there’s a weak spot or a chink in your defensive armor, you can bet your bottom dollar offensive coordinators will find it, and expose it. That said, starting two rookies at the position of cornerback sounds like suicide, but it worked out well enough for the Dolphins in starting Sean Smith and Vontae Davis, albeit, it gave coach Sparano some added sleepless nights, but the future does look bright.
