Celebrity Endorsement and Virtual Gaming: Keynotes a World Apart

13 May 2010, London UK – iGaming Business have proudly announced two star-cast keynotes at their upcoming event the iGaming Super Show (25th-28th May, Prague). Having their pick of the iGaming industry already speaking, it seems that iGaming Business have abstained from some of the more traditional choices in the market and found two fascinating alternatives, namely David Coulthard, of Formula 1 fame and Chris Collins, co-creator of the world-wide phenomenon ‘Second Life’ game.
David Coulthard made his Fordavid coulthardmula 1 debut in 1994 and won 13 Grand Prix in a career spanning 15 seasons. Although now retired from driving, he has certainly not forgone his past as he is still currently a consultant for his old team Red Bull Racing. An eloquent and expressive speaker, as one of the primary presenters for the BBC Formula One TV Coverage, he will certainly have a fascinating take on Formula 1’s relationship with iGaming; as brand ambassador for Jetbull.com he is ideally placed to speak first hand of the challenges and benefits of celebrity endorsement and answer questions on the relationship between sport and sports betting.
“I find iGaming very exciting and as the Jetbull brand ambassador I’m pleased to be able to participate in the iGaming Supershow.” David Coulthard stated “I am also looking forward to meeting a lot of interesting people from this industry in Prague.”
Chris Collins on the other hand is a veteran of the online world, having co-founded Linden Lab (creator of Second Life) and is since the CEO and founder of Tipodean Technologies (www.tipodean.com), a company focused on virtual technologies and gaming. He will be speaking on the rapid rise and evolving nature of virtual worlds and social gaming; illustrating how large distributed platforms like Facebook and mobile app stores are enabling customers to dictate their gaming experiences, leading to the rise of companies which within a couple of years can boast active users in the tens of millions, with revenues to match. This huge phenomenon is however much more than just the social gaming experience, with organizations now starting to build virtual good that increase retention and virtual currencies that enable global transaction. And what better industry to showcase the opportunities of this rising trend than online gambling?
“Before Linden Lab banned it, gaming was hugely successful in Second Life due to the social and immersive aspects the platform provided.” Chris Collins commented “I believe that social games offer a huge opportunity for the gaming industry; I am looking forward to speaking at the iGaming Super Show to share my experience with virtual worlds and meet with people who are looking to extend their offering.”
The iGaming Super Show certainly has a showcase of speaker highlights throughout their program. Better still, all delegates come completely free of charge for what looks to be a show of massive proportions; with three conference rooms, two expo halls, over 120 exhibitors and several networking event peppered throughout the three days.
