The BIG ONE for ONE DROP returns to the World Series of Poker (WSOP) for its second incarnation and the $1m seats are already filling up pretty fast.
Poker may be going through a period of transition, but for the elite in the game things just keep looking stronger.
The WSOP have just released a statement advising players to hurry up and book their seats in the $1m BIG ONE for ONE DROP event because the seats are being sold at a rapid rate.
Yes…you heard me right.
The WSOP are advising people to shift their butts because $1m buy-in seats are being snapped up quicker than a young Angelina Jolie at the school disco.
The poker world still has three months to amuse itself until the greatest spectacle in the world once again completely overshadows the $10,000 WSOP Main Event, and 23 of the 56-capped seats have already been taken.
So far the usual suspects have put their names forward with 17 confirmed names taking part in their second ONE DROP event including the one-two from last year Antonio Esfandiari and Sam Trickett.

So whom else can we expect to see on that list?
Earlier this year, during the World Poker Tour (WPT) Grand Prix de Paris, Timothy Adams confirmed that he would play in the event, and I also fully expect to see the businessmen, and decent poker players in their own right, Dan Shak and Talal Shakerchi to also take a seat.
Daniel Negreanu is a dead cert to play the event, and by hook or by crook Phil Hellmuth will also find his way into the field. I also expect Mike Sexton to find the necessary backing to be included in the final 56.
Philipp Gruissem has already booked a seat, and one wonders if he will be representing team Germany, or whether we will also see appearances from Tobias Reinkemeier, Igor Kurganov, Fabian Quoss or a mixture of the four.
It wouldn’t surprise me to see Isaac Haxton find the backing to play in the event and Jonathan Duhamel will also be squeezing his Canadian bum onto a seat.
Players who I would love to find their way into this event are Mike ‘Timex’ McDonald, JC Tran and Vanessa Selbst. Timex is smashing the tournament scene up right now, JC Tran is also in the form of his life, and I think it would be a great thing for poker to have a female player in the event, and what better representation than the best female poker player of all time.
The BIG ONE for ONE DROP will take over our lives June 29th – July 1st.
