EiG Totally Gaming 2011

The All New Totally Gaming EiG attracts more local experts from upcoming jurisdictions now opening up to iGaming

As new markets open up and an increasing number of jurisdictions consider licensing and taxing the iGaming industry, exciting opportunities for business expansion are being created for both existing global iGaming brands and new entrants from the land-based, lottery and general consumer entertainment industries. Countries such as Greece, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Hungary, to name but a few, are now following in the footsteps of Italy and France that have already introduced, with different effect, iGaming legislation, giving a spur to the creation of the local industries.

With opportunities come the challenges posed by localised legislation and multi-license environment where more resources are needed to enter and succeed in these new regulatory markets. Local expertise and customer relationships deeply rooted in the marketplace are key to secure the first-mover advantage and to keep the leading market share, as the examples of Gioco Digitale and Winamax have demonstrated.

This local expertise from around Europe and beyond will be showcased and shared in Milan, Italy where over 1500 .com and .country industry pioneers, start-ups and new entrants will meet at the 10th anniversary of the European iGaming Congress & Expo to build partnerships for success in new markets, discover new ways to improve their business, provide more exciting new products to customers and find out how their competitors are positioning themselves to succeed in the new market conditions, dictated by the dynamic regulatory developments.

“As these new markets in Europe open up to online gaming, it’s becoming increasingly important for operators to be able to adapt their messaging to the local demographics. To do that, they need the expertise of the local experts who can help them understand what localised products to offer and how to communicate their propositions to new players. EiG this year will focus on bringing these experts so that they can share their expertise and partner with the global players.”

It’s no coincidence this industry’s most high-level and longest running event is taking place in Italy this year, currently Europe’s fastest growing market and expected to flourish even more with the new regulations now being introduced to allow for cash poker and casino games. Both global brands, now on the drive to consolidate to build scale allowing them to enter the regulated markets, and local Italian organisations from gaming and non-gaming sectors are all eyeing the opportunity and taking steps to secure a share of this lucrative market. Top level executives from Gioco Digitale, Poste Mobile and Lottomatica will be present to discuss their approach in their local markets with the CEOs of global brands such as William Hill Online, bwin.party digital entertainment, Betclic Everest Group, Virgin Games, PKR and Bodog, and also to explore potential partnerships, identify key industry trends, influence further market and regulatory developments, predict the future leaders and to make sure they are one of them.

Paolo di Feo, bwin.party Southern Region Director (Italy, France, Spain, Portugal and Latin America), part of the recently merged global iGaming operator bwin.party, commented on his involvement in EiG: “We’re excited that EiG is coming to Italy this year. Hosting an event as important as EiG is without a doubt a testimony to Italy’s appeal to the global gaming industry.“

The 10th European iGaming Congress & Expo will take place on 19-22 September 2011 in Milan, Italy. More details and registration are available on www.eigexpo.com.
