Further details on the AGCC’s decision to suspend Full Tilt

full tilt logoMore details have emerged regarding this morning’s announcement by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) that they would be suspending Full Tilt Poker’s operating license. The poker site’s future in the jurisdiction has been in doubt ever since the Black Friday indictments and the AGCC had been investigating whether they had in fact broken any laws.

The latest statement from the AGCC concerns Vantage Ltd, Oxalic Ltd, Filco Ltd and Orinic Ltd and started by stating “Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) has today issued Hearing Notices under Regulation 46 of the Alderney eGambling Regulations, 2009 to the above named companies who collectively trade as Full Tilt Poker.”

The statement then added,

“In addition, AGCC has issued Suspension Notices under Regulation 47 of the Alderney eGambling Regulations, 2009 to the above named companies requiring them to immediately suspend operations.

“The above named companies must, until the Suspension Notices are cancelled or the Commissioners of AGCC have reached a determination at the conclusion of the hearing convened in accordance with Regulation 46 of the Alderney eGambling Regulations, 2009 cease to exercise their eGambling licenses, which means that these licensees must from today cease to:-
• Register new customers

• Accept deposits from existing customers

• Allow existing customers to withdraw funds that are held in their account

• Permit customers to participate in any form of poker game play or gambling transaction.

It’s widely thought that the plug was pulled on Full Tilt at around 3:30am PST (11:30 GMT) with the customers who were logged off seeing the following message pop up on their screens:

A Regulatory Hearing to discuss the matters has been scheduled but it won’t commence until 10am on Thursday 26th July at the Victoria Park Plaza Hotel in London. That’s some time for the site to wait and it will mean players will be in the dark until then.

    this is a much bigger scandal then the BetED one…the difference is that Covers has the money but does not want to pay it and these guys don't.

    how complicit are the processors such as Instadebit in Canada ? they receive their profit from Fulltilt . these operators of these sites are going to end up getting serious jailtime in the U.S

      all the processors so far have just cut deals to work for the US to ensnare other processors or operators…none have gone to jail.  The strategy of the DoJ is to disrupt so its kind of a ponzi scheme of forced entrapment of others…but this has to end as some point where they get someone and there is no one else out there bigger and maybe then a processor might see jail.  I don't really pay that much attention to the US markets, but our reporters are on top of it.
