Changes to gambling laws could benefit libraries

Public_Library_Reading_RoomUpcoming changes to American gambling laws could allow an increase in the number of casino licenses issued in Pennsylvania. It would also legalize poker, craps and blackjack and other table games. The changes still require a house vote and Senate approval, but at this point, there’s little doubt of them going through. When they do, the state’s casinos aren’t the only one’s who’ll benefit. Pennsylvania libraries receive 1% of all table game taxes, which means they’ll be seeing a huge increase in their yearly budgets. Read more…
