The Story
Despite opposition from citizens and reluctance from local mayors, the Japanese government will push through with its plan of establishing a casino management committee by January 7, 2020. The committee will be tasked to supervise the activities of IR operators and mitigate the potential ill effects of introducing casinos in Japan. The formation of the committee also means the criteria for identifying the host cities for integrated resorts are yet to be established.
