The Story
The Thailand Computer Security Coordination Center (ThaiCERT) has warned its punters regarding a possible data breach. ThaiCERT discovered a database containing the personal information of 3.3m Thai citizens in “foreign database systems which overlap with gambling websites.” The state-run agency claimed that they have examined a database that contain the citizens’ names, birth dates, government identification numbers, phone numbers and banking information. Following ThaiCERT’s discovery, the country’s central bank has urged those who have wagered in foreign gambling sites to change their online banking or credit card passwords.
