The European Commission, in a recently released report, found that blocking online gambling domains are not helpful in cracking down unauthorized online gambling websites. For one, 19% of the domains that were blacklisted by 18 European states were dormant. Also, only three EU states employed means to remove mobile gambling apps. Aside from going after the domains of illegal online gambling websites, EU states also ordered payment processors to block transactions with said operators and made moves in regulating their advertisements.
