Former Universal Entertainment Corp. Chairman Kazuo Okada was arrested by the Hong Kong Independent Commission against Corruption in connection with corruption-related offenses.

 

Okada’s arrest came a year after his Universal oust

The Japanese tycoon is currently facing a HK$136.05m (US$17.4m) suit filed before the High Court of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region last December. The suit claims that between February and March 2015, Okada used Hong Kong-based subsidiary Tiger Resort Asia Ltd. to provide a HK$135m (US$17.26m) to Goldluck Tech Ltd. without requesting any collateral and without imposing any interest.
