we need to make things that are remarkable.

The Story

Steve Wynn has resigned as the chief executive officer and chairman of Wynn Resorts nearly two weeks after the Wall Street Journal published a report highlighting the casino mogul’s alleged sexual harassment on female casino staff which spanned decades.

The backlash against Wynn was swift and brutal.

The embattled former CEO, who repeatedly denied the allegations, claimed that he became “the focus of an avalanche of negative publicity” in which “a rush to judgment takes precedence over everything else, including the facts.” With this, Wynn said that he cannot “continue to be effective in my current roles” and thus needed to resign. He also expressed confidence that “the institution we created … will remain standing in the long term.”

Wynn President Matt Maddox has been appointed the company´s new CEO, while director Boone Wayson has been named non-executive chairman.
