The Story

CalvinAyre.com got a whiff of the latest attempt of Robert Gustafsson, peddler of lies and conman extraordinaire, of staging a comeback in the online gambling scene through QTech Games.

The audacity! Remind me of what he has done.

Gustaffson previously headed the Manila-based Bodog Asia online gambling business until he was sacked for gross incompetence in 2013. A few months later, Gustaffson told the local police that Bodog Asia violated the terms of its Philippine gambling license by accepting wagers from local residents. Raids were conducted on the Bodog Asia offices yet these failed to find evidence to support Gustaffson’s claims.

Now we have established that he’s a liar.

Gustafsson’s claims posed as a distraction to the charges he is facing in the Philippines. The charges stemmed from a failed attempt by Gustafsson and several co-workers to embezzle large sums of money from their former employer, which they planned to use to launch their own online gambling operation.

And now he’s working his way back.

CalvinAyre.com’s investigation on the link of Gustafsson and QTech Games began when our editor-in-chief Bill Beatty contacted some of the companies to inquire about their ties with QTech. After the calls, their names started vanishing from QTech’s website. Beatty’s inquiries led QTech CEO Jonas Alm to send a letter denying that Gustafsson was involved with QTech and that CalvinAyre.com’s top editor would face legal action because of his inquiries.

When there is smoke, there is fire.

CalvinAyre.com’s sources insist that Gustafsson is linked with QTech, despite Alm’s denial. Documentary evidence also proves the conman’s indirect involvement with the company. It is because the certificate of incorporation of TechAsia Portal Corp., QTech’s parent company, listed Gustafsson’s stepson Kim Andreas Bertil Jonson as its largest shareholder. Jonson also chairs TechAsia’s board of directors. What’s more, Gustafsson’s daughter-in-law Xin Zhao was originally listed as TechAsia’s treasurer.

Takeaway

Despite threats, CalvinAyre.com is committed to tracking Gustafsson’s dealings so as to help other companies make informed decisions on whom they are dealing with.
