Playtech reported double-digit gains in its revenue for the first six months of the year due to a strong performance by its online casino division. 

Playtech's revenue hit €421.6m in the six month period ending on June 30, which is a 25% rise over the same period last year. 

The company said that the "particularly strong performance" by its Asian gray and and black market online gambling licensees has propelled its casino operations to rise by 26% to €235.5 million.

However, it is minuscule compared to the grey and black markets. The company's share of total revenue from regulated markets rose only for two points to 50% during H1. 

Grey and black markets, particularly Asian countries, remain to be the primary driving force of Playtech's growth.
