What’s in a name? Plenty, if you’re Carl Icahn, and you say you own the Tropicana trademark. See, the Tropicana Las Vegas hotel/casino is owned by Onex Corp. and Alex Yemenidjian, but Icahn wants Onex and Yemenidjian to pay him to continue calling the Tropicana the Tropicana. It would be interesting to learn whether the bartenders at the Tropicana mix screwdrivers using Tropicana orange juice, which is owned by an entirely separate party and otherwise completely irrelevant to this discussion, but we just thought we’d make a murky situation even less clear.
