Becky Liggero talks to Element Wave CEO Dorothy Creaven about how their Push Notification Technology is fit for the Online Gambling Industry.
Why do you feel that the push notification technology that you have is in particular good fit for the gaming industry?
“I think with online gambling and mobile gambling, player retention is a really major challenge and player engagement. Often Brands and operators can develop apps that can cost anywhere from £2000 to £2 million and ultimately, if those apps are not being used, it’s pretty much a waste of money.”
“We have small piece of technology that sits in the background (of the app), and helps operators and brands to really understand how their mobile audience is engaging, and then allowing them to send very targeted push notifications based on what their users are interested in.
“It’s all about delivering the right content, to the right people, very much at the right time.”
What is an example of a company or a push notification that is quite successful for online gambling players?
“Colossus bets, they are offering fractional cash in offer, and they use push notifications to let their players know of the optimal times to cash in on their bets.
“They’re really listening to how their players are engaging, and looking at previous behaviors as well and then offering them options via push notifications based on what they’re doing within the app.”
What numbers illustrate how successful push notifications are for player retention and even conversion?
“Push notifications can actually double player retention, and if you look at the 1st month after an app is downloaded, if users opt-in, there’s still 55 percent of them who are engaged after the 1st month whereasit’s only 29 percent if you don’t opt in to receive Push Notifications.
“There’s a very clear return on investment for implementing Push Notifications with regard to player retention, player engagement, and ultimately for creating higher revenue.”
