After opening their newest casino, Galaxy Entertainment Group was the biggest winner in terms of gross gaming revenue last month. “Everyone’s a winner baby” was piping out of all Macau’s PA systems yesterday with the resort seeing another month of unprecedented growth. The May 15th opening of the Galaxy Macau in Cotai meant that the group’s market share leapt from 9% to 13%. They’ll be flying to the moon and back with that news!
It does mean that the market share of some of their competitors has declined. Music to the ears of Galaxy. No so much to the ears of Steve Wynn. This was as Wynn Macau’s share of the market dipped from 17% to 13% drawing level with the aforementioned group. Stanley Ho’s Sociedade de Jogos de Macau (SJM) remains the market leader with 34% of the market followed by Sands China with 15% and Melco Crown completing the chasing pack with 14%. Lagging behind everyone was MGM Macau with 11%.
Those attending G2E Asia later this month will be able to experience the new Galaxy Macau in Cotai as well as being aparty to Aristocrat’s first ever trade show app. The gaming solutions provider will give attendees the chance to take a virtual tour of everything the firm is offering at G2E Asia and is available for iPhone and iPad.
“We are absolutely committed to delivering the best gaming experience in Asia every day, and we created this first-ever G2E app as the perfect complement to our incredible product offerings at this year’s G2E Asia, and to ensure Aristocrat’s stand is every attendee’s first stop on the tradeshow floor,” said Aristocrat general manager Asia Pacific David Punter.
