A team of elite professionals, their first sporting ambassador and the announcement of a record-breaking online WSOP Super Circuit Series with a prizepool of $100 million. If you thought that GG Poker might have a quiet week on the back of these developments, you were dead wrong.

fedor-holz-and-pokercode-join-forces-with-gg-pokerIt’s only Monday morning, but already the next big week in the mushrooming of the world’s fastest-growing poker site, GGPoker has seen another new addition cause ripples throughout the game.

Fedor Holz – and perhaps just as crucially, his GTO-level training site Pokercode – has joined forces with GG Poker.

The legendary German poker pro isn’t the only player to throw his lot in with GG Poker. As we told you recently, ElkY a.k.a. Bertrand Grospellier  has joined a team already featuring Bryn Kenney, Daniel Negreanu and Felipe Ramos. Even more recently than that, Boris Becker, the German former Wimbledon champion has badged up with GG Poker too.

The latest GGPoker brand ambassador will raise some eyebrows in the industry, with Holz having ‘retired’ several years ago. Since then, he backed hypnosis app Primed Mind and worked alongside Elliot Roe to bring that project to fruition. Then he turned to Pokercode, pioneering the GTO training app with the help of Austrian high roller crusher Matthias Eibinger.

Jean-Christophe Antoine, Head of GGPoker, is clearly delighted with the partnership.

“Pokercode is yet another top brand to add to our list of partners. It’s a pleasure to welcome Fedor Holz onto Team GGPoker. His passion for the game and success both live and online is truly impressive. We couldn’t be happier to welcome Fedor and the entire Pokercode community.”

It’s not just GG Poker who are excited about the deal. Holz himself is looking forward to partnering up with a poker brand he sees as being at the first curve of new development.

“We’re thrilled to become a GGPoker partner, particularly at this exciting time,” he said. “I’m honored to join Team GGPoker. In addition to the broad suite of poker training our players already have access to, helping them see much greater success at the tables, Pokercode players can now call the best platform in the industry home.”

Poker brands don’t regularly align with training sites, who in recent years have almost run parallel lines with poker sites such as PokerStars, partypoker and 888poker. A new format brings more training. New training episodes often lead to discussions around marketing team tables at the major poker brands about how best to tap into the new trend.

It’s already shaping up to be a very big month for GG Poker, with the $100 million guaranteed WSOP Super Circuit Series launching last night with the first two WSOP Circuit Ring events. They were well attended, with more than 5,500 players and a COVID-19 Charity event that raised more than $150,000 for good causes.

There are promotions running on both GG Poker and Pokercode to celebrate the new partnership, with Pokercode’s coaching team of Holz, Eibinger and Simon ‘IgorKarkarof’ Rønnow Pedersen collaborating with the GG Poker team in developing new and innovative ways to marry up training with the best coaches and playing on the best online poker site.

That itself is a huge mission, but as GG Poker have shown in recent weeks, they are not afraid of a challenge and are prepared to put the hard yards in to make up ground on the already-established poker brands that have dominated the market in recent years.
