Nevada Gaming Commission Unanimously Approves Plans for Circa Sports at Golden Gate and the D

LAS VEGAS – April 29, 2019 – Las Vegas casino owner and developer Derek Stevens will blaze a new trail in the gaming industry with the introduction of Circa Sports, a new sportsbook venture that will debut in Downtown Las Vegas this year. The Nevada Gaming Commission today unanimously approved Stevens’ Circa Sports license, which includes launching its first location – a sportsbook at Golden Gate Hotel & Casino – on June 1.

Derek Stevens' new sportsbook venture - Circa Sports - to debut in downtown Las VegasCombining Stevens’ customer-first approach to business with a team of the country’s top oddsmakers – led by Sportsbooks Director Matt Metcalf, who introduced Westgate’s SuperBook – Circa Sports will feature one of the most competitive wagering menus in Las Vegas and establish itself as a leader in the city for sports futures.

Following the launch at Golden Gate, Circa Sports will introduce a satellite program at the D Las Vegas in late June 2019, paving the road for the highly anticipated multi-level, stadium-style sportsbook that will debut at Circa Resort & Casino in December 2020. While all different in size and scope, each Circa Sports’ location will be helmed by a best-in-class team and deliver an experience that appeals to all bettors, from professionals to novices, with a focus on strong customer service.

“It’s no secret that I’m an avid sports bettor – I’m taking everything I’ve learned and everything I love and bringing it all to Circa Sports to create the best possible experience for our guests,” said Stevens. “Circa Sports will take people back to old-school Las Vegas hospitality, where our guests and oddsmakers interact closely in a friendly and fun environment.”

Designed by MOSER Architecture Studio, the sportsbook at Golden Gate will feature a state-of-the-art video wall with 18 screens, LED boards displaying betting odds and two betting kiosks. Additionally, a mobile component will debut, offering opportunities for convenient wagering and live betting. Guests can take advantage of the ease of access Golden Gate’s sportsbook provides, including complimentary valet parking just steps from the book.

Metcalf said, “There is truly no casino operator who understands sports betting quite like Derek Stevens.

Together, we’re creating a one-of-a-kind fan experience that can be enjoyed by bettors of all types. We plan to make placing bets easier than ever for advanced bettors, while ushering in a new wave of novice players who are seeking the advice of experts to help guide the way.”
