CalvinAyre.com is notorious for its conference video coverage, with daily recaps coming out 12 hours after they were shot and dozens of exclusive interviews captured each day on the floor. With one film crew based in London and another in Manila, we are able to hit just about every major iGaming conference around the world and have been doing so for almost 10 years. Locations we visit on an annual basis include London, Manila, Macau, Las Vegas, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Taipei, Lisbon and Malta with even more destinations in the cards for 2019.
The CalvinAyre.com crew has become a staple at iGaming conferences (and the odd party or awards ceremony here or there) and for this we thank you, our dear readers, for your support. We also thank the conference organizers in our space for making this all possible and without further ado, here is our list of the 10 most viewed conference coverage videos of the year.
10. Betting on Sports 2018 Day One Recap
Seeing as nine of our top ten most viewed interviews of 2018 focus on sports betting, it should come as no surprise SBC’s sports betting event recaps were high on our list in terms of views. This recap video features a few words from Snooker legend Ronnie O’Sullivan, covers the relationship between F1 and betting, reveals a solution for 24/7 sports betting content and provides an update on FSB Tech’s exponential growth over the past four years.
9. Betting on Football 2018 Day One Recap
Also organized by team SBC, the Betting on Football (BOF) Day One Recap was shot at the Chelsea Football Club in London, an appealing location to anyone who enjoys a little football or “soccer” as us Americans like to say. This video includes words from BetVictor’s Matt Scarrott on the popular topic of in-play betting, information on RISQ’s bespoke “World Cup Predictor Game” and some words from Mark Blandford who accurately predicts the repeal of PASPA (BOF took place in late March 2018 and PASPA was repealed the following May).
The third day of G2E, or the Wednesday of show, is known for hosting the most reveals and celeb appearances of the week. This recap video features American rapper Sir Mix-a-lot who was at G2E to promote the launch of a slot with a “Baby’s Got Back” theme, his hit single from the 90s (I like big butts and I cannot lie!), a 10 year anniversary celebration with Aristocrat for their Buffalo brand, a tour through the giant, invite-only Scientific Games booth and some words with NetEnt’s new CEO, Terese Hillman.
7. ICE Totally Gaming Day Three Recap
ICE Day Three, or the Wednesday of the event, is always packed and full of action. This recap video includes an update on BluePrint Gaming’s acquisition of Games Warehouse and details on slot development with CEO Matt Cole, a peek into Pragmatic Play’s “Chilli Heat” promotion, a summary of Trustly’s new “Pay ‘n Play” product and some fun with Microgaming and their 360 degree view cameras.
WGES may be one of the smaller events of the year in terms of numbers, but it continues to attract the most senior executives in the European gambling industry, which of course results in top content for our conference videos. This recap features a world of disruption CEO panel, thoughts on the latest Italian regulatory challenges with Giovanni Garrisi of Stanleybet, words from Vicenc Marti on the intersection of blockchain and gaming and more on blockchain with David Greyling of FunFair Technologies.
Our recap video from the second day of WGES covers the latest on Malta’s iGaming and blockchain regulations and the convergence happening there, the crossover between eSports and blockchain with Michael Doyle, coverage of the blockchain panel I personally moderated and more on crypto and ICOs with Jed Taylor of DecentBet.
G2E’s giant expo floor opened up on day two and this recap video includes an exclusive interview with Downtown Las Vegas developer Derek Stevens, a rare interview with BetGenius CEO and Founder Mark Locke, the latest in payment processing solutions and background on the AGA’s Innovation Lab at G2E, including the importance of showcasing the latest innovations.
