Football-based social networking and media app become the South London Club’s debut shirt sleeve partner in a multi-year deal
HONG KONG (Tuesday 18th July 2017) Chinese football app Dongqiudi (Dong-cho-di) have become the first shirt sleeve partner of Crystal Palace Football Club in a multi-year deal for the Premier League side. Dongqiudi’s logo will feature on the left sleeve of Palace’s shirts, with the 2017/18 campaign being the first season where the Premier League allow clubs to create brand partnerships to advertise on the sleeve of player shirts.
The partnership was announced at a fan party in Hong Kong ahead of Crystal Palace’s Premier League Asia Trophy match against Liverpool with special guests Wilfried Zaha, James Tomkins and Julian Speroni.
In addition, the Club will wear a special edition kit during the Premier League Asia Trophy with Dongqiudi on the front of shirt, kicking off the tournament vs Liverpool on Wednesday 19th July and then again vs former Premier League Champions Leicester City FC or West Bromwich Albion in the second match on Saturday 22nd July.
Established in 2013, Dongqiudi was created as a way for Chinese football fans to form communities and follow their favourite teams from around the world. The app has been downloaded 30 million times and receives over three million daily unique users – making it the number one football app in China.
Dongqiudi have existing media partnerships with Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion and see the Premier League as crucial to the continued global growth of the platform. The partnership with the Eagles will allow Dongqiudi to increase their exposure in the sport through the most watched league in world football.
