Partypoker has signed a deal with the Professional Darts Corporation to act as their official online poker room of choice and launch ‘The Road to Las Vegas’ challenge.
Partypoker continue to drive their marketing into areas of sport after securing a deal with the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) to become their official online poker partner of the PDC US Darts Masters.
Darts returns to the world’s entertainment capital of Las Vegas for the first time in eight years when it sets up the oche at The Tropicana for a 16-man event set to take place 11-16 July 2017.
It’s a sign of a return to the good times for dart loving Nevadians. The PDC Las Vegas Desert Classic was a mainstay of the annual darts calendar with an annual event held at the MGM between 2002-2005 before switching to Mandalay Bay 2006-2009. Partypoker sponsored the event, and Sky Sports covered it for TV.
Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor, won five of those eight events. Peter Manley, John Part and Raymond van Barneveld picked up a trophy apiece. There isn’t a single US player competing in the PDC at present, but PDC Chairman, Barry Hearn, believes there is a market and he is willing to start tapping.
Speaking to Partypoker, Hearn said:
“The US Masters is the biggest thing ever to happen to darts in North America and you do not want to miss it. The best players in the world are on the line and the cream of North American talent will fight it out for their chance to put their name down in history by toppling the giants.”
Partypoker Continue Cross-Selling Strategy
In November 2015, partypoker signalled their intent to market their online poker room to a wider sporting audience when they signed the former boxing world champion, Carl Froch, as an ambassador and immediately rebranded their tournament schedule with a boxing theme.
They also launched the Grand Prix Poker Tour (GPPT), a series of low buy-in poker events held at the UK’s greatest football stadia, as well as hosting the Big Bluff Celebrity Poker Challenge including football star Adebayo Akinfenwa, and the eventual winner, World Superbike legend, Carl Fogarty.
And now their partnership with the PDC provides their customers with even more opportunities to play poker, casino and have a bet in one location using a single wallet.
