Scotland Yard has a young 19-year old poker player in custody in connection with the controlled explosion that took place on a London Underground tube train on Thursday, and Dan Bilzerian appears on Larry King to field questions on his questionable lifestyle.

On Thursday, a counter-terrorism unit in London carried out a controlled explosion after an explosive device was found on a tube train travelling along the Jubilee Line near the O2 Arena.

On Friday, police tasered a young man outside the London Metropolitan University, believed to be the primary suspect, although Scotland Yard has not revealed his identity.

Scotland Yard’s reluctance to remove the veil of secrecy over the suspect hasn’t prevented the national press doing it for them. University student, Damon Smith, is the man garnering the headlines of every tabloid across the country, much to the shame of his mother.

The 19-year old, from Newton Abbot, moved to London to attend Uni in the summer. Friends and neighbours of Smith interviewed by reporters have spoken about the young man’s love for live and online poker with at least one of them suggesting that Smith used his poker winnings to purchase a replica AK47 and Glock Pistol.

If you wanted to learn about the profile of a terror suspect, then the press have done the work for you. They are calling Smith a poker loving loner, who takes his Mum on dates with him, wears a black scarf, reads the Koran, has taken vacations in Tunisia and Turkey and has shown an interest in the Syrian war.

There you are then.

The counter-terrorism unit searched a former property used by Smith and his mother in Newton Abbot and found a second device hidden behind a garage said to be ‘not viable.’ I assume that’s MI5 speak for ‘won’t blow your bollocks off.’

On the 7 July 2005, Islamist extremists detonated three bombs on tube trains across the city, with a fourth exploding on a bus. The atrocities resulted in the death of 55 people and over 700 injuries. It meant nobody would ever feel completely safe traveling on the tube, again.

This latest incident is only likely to heighten those concerns.

Dan Bilzerian Planning Another Crazy Prop Bet

Dan Bilzerian appears on Larry King to field questions on his questionable lifestyle and Scotland Yard has a young 19-year old poker player in custody in connection with the controlled explosion that took place on a London Underground tube train on Thursday.

Had Damon Smith lived in the USA instead of the UK, he would have likely used his online poker funds to buy a cache of real guns. Actually, that’s not correct. The bit about the guns is because they are legal, but it’s illegal to play online poker. I know. The world is nuts.

Sticking with the ‘nuts’ theme, and one person who has more guns than the UK’s counter-terrorism unit is Dan Bilzerian. The poker-loving, 30-second movie star, has also been in the news this week as he considers rowing across the Atlantic in a $5m prop bet with Bill Perkins.

Yes, Bill Perkins, the man who has never won a prop bet in his life might just break his duck with this beauty. It is Bilzerian who has come up with the idea to row solo across the 3,000 miles of sharks and shit. Speaking on the Larry King show, Bilzerian said that Perkins is yet to agree to the bet, but if he does, he is going for it.

Other gems from the Larry King show include his views on women “they use me as much as I use them.” Revealing that he is not a good role model for young boys, and how he once won $10.8m in one session playing poker, has lost $3.6m on three different occasions, and reckons he once won between $60-$70m on the dirty green baize.
