MACAU – Global Gaming Expo Asia (G2E Asia) presented by the American Gaming Association and Reed Exhibitions, the leading Asian trade event and the largest regional sourcing platform for global gaming and entertainment products, has won the Branded Exhibitions Award at the inaugural Macao Convention and Exhibition Commendation Awards, organized by the Macao Convention & Exhibition Association. The 2015 edition of these awards will be the first held to celebrate high quality MICE events in Macau. G2E Asia, together with other category winners will be crowned on 17 December 2015 at the Macau Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Branded Exhibitions Award is one of four award honors to be presented to events that took place between October 1, 2014 and September 30, 2015. The other categories in which winners will be recognized include the Brand Convention Award, the Innovative Exhibition Award and the Bid Convention Award. Using diverse selection criteria, a judging panel of MICE industry experts have selected the winners from entries from across the Macau MICE trade, in recognition of outstanding performance in elements characterized by exhibition settings, coordination, service quality and effectiveness.
G2E Asia has grown by more than threefold in size since it was first launched in Macau. The number of international visitors has also skyrocketed in the first part of this decade by 340% since 2010. Accompanying this growth has been a burgeoning reputation for G2E Asia as the continent’s most important and credible gaming event and a major networking platform for gaming and entertainment professionals in the region.
Josephine Lee, Senior Vice President of Reed Exhibitions Greater China, organizers of G2E Asia, said, “We’re thrilled to be one of the first winners of the Macao Convention and Exhibition Commendation Awards. This achievement is a testament of G2E Asia’s excellence and position at the forefront of Asia’s gaming sector. We focus our energy and efforts on understanding the needs of our exhibitors and visitors so as to ensure that G2E Asia consistently delivers value that meets their needs. We also pride ourselves on designing a comprehensive program that engages gaming professionals from every sector. We’re very thankful for this award. It will serve as a big encouragement to our team and we will work even harder now to live up to the expectations set by our achieving this honour.”
The 2015 edition of G2E Asia was the ninth, and the largest to date. Held from May 19-21 at The Venetian Macao, this year’s show registered a record-breaking attendance of 9,867 visitors from 79 countries and regions, along with 161 exhibiting companies. Additionally, demonstrating the event’s ever-expanding interest from abroad, 69% of G2E Asia 2015 visitors came from outside of Macau, a 20% jump from the previous year. With every new edition, visitors to G2E Asia come in ever greater numbers from beyond the Asia region. Numerous new key initiatives to enhance the on-site visitor experience, including a much-expanded non-gaming element to satisfy the booming demand for services and resorts integrating the very best of gaming, entertainment and hospitality accounted for the boom.
Going forward, G2E Asia will continue to maintain its leading position as the continent’s most substantive showcase of the latest gaming content and entertainment solutions, to fully meet the needs of the region’s gaming professionals. The organizers also plan to intensify the show’s match-making program, thereby enhancing the ROI of exhibitors and visitors. The use of digital technology will be expanded to extend the value of the event beyond the three-day duration of the show to a 365-day cycle. Efforts to intensify the conference program and introduce a greater number of inspirational new products and technologies to Asia’s gaming professionals will be stepped up.
G2E Asia 2016 will be held from May 17 to May 19, 2016 at the The Venetian Macao Convention & Exhibition Center in Macau, China.
