According to entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk it’s the most important word in the world. According to Vaynerchuk, not a lot of people understand what the word means. They are too full of excuses to get it. Jason Somerville gets it.

Jason Somerville is a talented poker player. He has earned $3.5m in live tournament earnings and owns a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet. But talented poker players are a dime a dozen. You know that. I know that. Somerville knows that.

“Your talent is not enough, you have to put in the work.” Says Vaynerchuk.

It’s been quite a hectic 18-months for Somerville. He was working for Ultimate Poker. Then he wasn’t. Then he started streaming his Run it UP! Show on Twitch. Then he garnered the attention of PokerStars. He was signed. Then he picked up a deal with the Peppermill franchise to host Run it UP! Live events; and finally came an entry into the world of Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) via a deal with DraftKings.

“You have to hustle your face off for 15 hours a day. Unfortunately, we live in a time and a generation where people are not willing to do that.” Says Vaynerchuk.

Season 4 os Run it UP! Saw Somerville take the hot seat for 57 days. He streamed for 374 hours (including 6 days, 7 hours and 42 minutes throughout the World Championships of Online Poker (WCOOP) earning a $26,090.29 profit in tournaments during that time), and ended his season with a profit of $42,000. At the time of writing Somerville’s stream has had 8,731,347 views, and he has 138,788 subscribers. Nobody in poker can touch him.

“People like to claim that they work hard and smart. They work 9 to 6. It’s just not enough.” Says Vaynerchuk.

Somerville keeps on hustling. He may be experiencing a brief online sabbatical, but he still as hosting duties at the forthcoming six day Run it UP! Festival in Reno. The Peppermill Resort Spa Casino is hosting the event. The dates ate Oct 20-25. The main attraction is a $565 Main Event with a $100k Guarantee. The final table will be streamed live on Twitch.

“Your hustle, your work ethic and your drive is not predicated on your zip code.” Says Vaynerchuk.

Jason Somerville will be back hustling for Season 5 of Run it UP! Before you can say BOO! In the meantime, this is a great opportunity for Somerville wannabe’s to show that they also have hustle.
