Online gambling operator 666Bet has instructed its customers to open an account with online wallet Skrill in order for the company to begin processing its payments.
“In preparation for you being able to access your account and make a withdrawal can we ask that all customers who do not currently have a Skrill/Moneybookers account to please open one as soon as possible as this will be the only option open to customers in the near future.”
“666Bet would like to thank customers once again for their patience in this matter and we appreciate your understanding in what has been a very difficult period where we have been reliant on other 3rd parties”
On April 16, 666Bet said that it had been “reliably and explicitly informed on several occasions by our potential third party platform provider that they were waiting for approval from the UKGC … The UKGC have now informed us that this is not the case.”
And while waiting for “further confirmation from the UKGC and for the unidentified third party to clarify their comments, 666Bet explores alternative routes to pay customers.
A third payment provider in place to process the refund will be a relief to punters, who have had thousands of pounds in the bookmakers accounts and customers who have launched an online petition demanding the refunding of players’ account balances.
The process is expected to be smooth sailing as UK Gambling Commission made it clear that 666Bet is authorized to settle any outstanding winning bets that it accepted in reliance on its operating license and return any outstanding balances to customers and UKGC’s approval isn’t necessary.
