Partypoker Guarantee Over $2m During the Pokerfest Championships

Bwin.party Digital Entertainment’s online poker arm, partypoker, is set to launch its Pokerfest Championships, with over $2m in guarantees spread over a 76 tournament series, almost doubling the guarantees of the previous series.

You have to give it to partypoker.

They have balls.

Despite their Q3 poker vertical falling by 25%, to €17.5m, Jeffrey Haas and the team have almost doubled their PokerFest Championship guarantees to over $2m. This, in spite of the fact that their previous series, back in March, included a series of overlays, with guarantees pitched at just over the $1m mark.

There is also an increase in events, with 76 tournaments running between Oct 19 – Nov 2, as opposed to the 67 that run the last time the PokerFest format was rolled out to partypoker clientele.

Once again we will be treated to the three tier buy-in structure. Great news for poker players with bankrolls of all shapes and sizes. The 15-day online poker series will contain four events with six figure prize pools culminating with their star attraction: the $200 buy-in $300,000 Guaranteed No Limit Hold’em Event (NLHE), which will take place on 14:00 (ET), Sun 2 Nov. Last time out, ‘lede007’ took the top prize of $43,598.53 after defeating a field of 1,768 players way back in March.

The series kicks off on Sunday Oct 19, with Event #1: $1 buy-in $5,000 NLH Turbo Rebuy, and as it’s the Sunday Grind, you will see nine Pokerfest Championship events on that day, including Event #6 $200 buy-in $250,000 Guaranteed NLH Freezeout, Event #9 $500 buy-in $150,000 Guaranteed NLH High Roller Freezeout, and Event #8 $100 buy-in $75,000 Guaranteed NLH Freezeout.

“This Sunday there is over $500,000 guaranteed alone and that’s just on day one of the Pokerfest Championship Edition. With 76 events and low, medium and high levels this is an authentic online poker experience for everyone, no matter how big your bankroll is,” said partypoker Ambassador Mike Sexton.

The tournament will also comprise of three leaderboards – one for each level – with the top prize being a $850 seat in a WPT500 event with $250 cash.
